Phaneuf and Sjostrom (plus prospect Keith Aulie) to Toronto Maple Leafs.Jokinen and Prust (right after a Flames loss) to New York Rangers.Lundmark announced as being available for trade.I'm hoping Kiprusoff and Iginla are trade-proof, but who knows?!Will the newbies make the Flames better this season? Will we make it into the post-season or is our streak since making it to the 2004 finals coming to an end? Which team do you think we can or will have to overcome to guarantee a post-season spot? Also, anyone else on twitter? I find a lot of my hockey chatter is happening over there...
Don't forget KIpper, Iggy (and Regehr) have no trade clauses. I thought Dion had one too? Guess not. I always thought that ifhe asked them to waive them, or if they asked for a trade, it would go down quietly and we'd all be caught by surprise when the trade actually happened (the Dion trade). Then again the Jokinen one leaked early, so...
Thank goodness for NTC! I'm much more attached to Kipper, Iggy, and Regehr!
I'm kind of doubtful as to the Flames making the post-season too... though I'd love to be surprised! I am also unsure about Kotalik and his contract. Olli's face post-game and post-trade was so sad! :(
Oh yeah, I have Twitter. twelveicings, but it's locked. If I know who you are I'll add you, I do nothing but babble about hockey. ;)
omg hey girl lets be friends
Just requested an add. It's much like my LJ username, 'cept funktion. :)
Dion was done here. He quit playing for the most part. If you don't believe me then you needed to see him play live a few times to see just how much he didn't have any passion for the game with this team anymore. He gave away the puck all the time plus if a puck was lying within his reach, he would wait for someone else to get it, many times that being the other team. There were HUGE locker room issues going on. Dion will be better in Toronto because its a new place without the baggage that was piling up here. Now saying all that, I'm still convinced all this trading is leading to the BIG trade for us. As in, I won't be surprised at some point to see at least 3 or 4 of the guys we just picked up sent off in a trade for Kovalchuk, Lecavalier or Brad Richards. It's highly doubtful that these players picked up are the guys Darryl wants going past this year. Also, the hold up for the Jokinen trade was Kotalik not wanting to waive his limited no trade clause to come to Calgary. He had three teams on his list. One was Calgary. I'm convinced he waived it because he was promised he would be packaged up in another deal very soon.
I wonder why Kotalik had a NTC that referenced Calgary... do you have any ideas?
I can't say I know for sure but I would bet it was because he was sent to Edmonton and apparently hated it there so he may have equated Calgary with Edmonton as a place to be.
